Chelsea FC: Under-21s Need to Face 'Hard Truths'

Chelsea Under-21s coach Mark Robinson believes his team needs to recognise their shortcomings.

'These things happen,' says Mauricio Pochettino after PSG's heavy defeat

Chelsea FC Under-21s head coach Mark Robinson believes the Blues need to face up to some hard truths after their recent poor form. The young Blues have lost four of their last five games, including a 5-0 thrashing by Manchester United U21s. Robinson admits that his team has not been good enough and that they need to improve quickly. "We need to be honest with ourselves and admit that we haven't been good enough," Robinson said. "We need to look at ourselves in the mirror and ask ourselves what we need to do to improve. "We need to be more clinical in front of goal and we need to be more solid at the back. "We need to work hard and we need to be together. "We need to show the fighting spirit that Chelsea is known for," he added. Robinson also praised the performance of Manchester United U21s, who were ruthless in their victory. "Manchester United were excellent," Robinson said. "They were clinical in front of goal and they were solid at the back. "They are a very good team and they deserved to win," he concluded. Chelsea U21s are back in action on Monday when they host Tottenham Hotspur U21s at Stamford Bridge.
